The Fife History Museum was happy to host the Columbia Junior High history classes last week! Two large groups of students trekked across the parking lot to gather information about Fife's history for a class project.

They were a great bunch of students, full of good humor and genuine interest in history and the museum. We hope to see them and other CJH classes in our building in the future!

Hey Folks! It's time for another round of ID This Photo! Today's selection has the filenames of "elem play" and "crowd". By the dresses, I would estimate these were taken in the 1950s.

Does anyone recognize this stage, or even some of the people in the photos?

We would love to hear your answers!

Wow, cold and flu season has come early this year!

Sorry folks, but the Fife History Museum is CLOSED today due to illness. We are taking the day to rest up and feel better so we can be our best when you come to visit next week.

Our healthy board members will be at Harvest Fest tomorrow, and we will be open again next Wednesday - Friday 11am - 4pm.

Everyone find their favorite cold remedies and keep them handy! Stay healthy everyone!

Ever wonder exactly how big a size 100 shoe really is compared to your own foot? Come down to the
Fife History Museum, trace your foot on colorful paper and size it up to the "footprint" of our size 100 shoe from the old Alfred Iverson Shoe Repair Shop in Fife that used to be located next to Anders Market!

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Saturday for the Fife History Museum Apple Pie Bake-Off! Our numbers were small, but the pies were tasty!

3rd place went to an apple pie made with WSU-developed Cosmic Crisp apples, cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg.

2nd place went to the deep dish apple pie for its ingenious ingredients and creative presentation.

1st place went to a classic apple pie made with Granny Smith apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg. It best fit expectations for what an apple pie should taste like. :)

Grand Prize, for overall presentation, taste, and variety of ingredients, went to this amazing DEEP DISH apple pie that used a medley of apples, plus a delicious caramel sauce. Also note the leaf, apple, and acorn shapes in the crust! (Yes, it's the same pie as 2nd place, but we only had 3 pies! LOL)

Thanks again to all who attended.

We'll announce the winners at 2, and coffee and pie will be served until 3.

Our favorite pin-up model, Elizabeth (), will be joining us! So make an afternoon of it!

Hey Folks! We have received a few questions about the Apple Pie Bake-Off we are hosting this weekend at the Fife History Museum. We are here to answer them.

We supplied a recipe for the bake-off, but you do NOT have to stick to that particular one. That was just a baseline, in case you didn't have a specific recipe in mind.

BRING US YOUR FABULOUS CREATIONS!

We only ask that you list ingredients that may be a dietary restriction for others:(things like dairy, nuts, etc.) There will be a form at the door, so don't sweat it.

If you have other questions, please let us know! We will respond directly to you and post the answers here as well.

The Bake-Off is THIS COMING Saturday, September 12th. 1pm - 3pm at the Fife History Museum.

Event details are here:
