BEAT THE HEAT WITH A LITTLE HISTORY TOMORROW NIGHT!
It’s going to be HOT outside tomorrow, so come spend the evening somewhere cool, in more ways than one! The Museum of Unity and Hope is wrapping up its 2026 Summer Speaker Series tomorrow night with historian Tim Krysl.

IMPORTANT LOCATION CHANGE:We’re moving from the auditorium to the Crystal City High School LIBRARY.

Join us Wednesday, August 12, from 6:30–8:00 p.m. for the FINAL program of the summer. If you’ve been meaning to come to one of our Speaker Series events, this is your last chance this summer. Escape the heat, bring a friend, settle into the air conditioning, and spend the evening discovering some of the fascinating, surprising, and sometimes downright strange stories that shaped American history.

No homework. No test. Just a great storyteller, great conversation, and a very cool place to spend a very hot August evening.

Museum Supporters - History Comes Alive TOMORROW!

Join us for the second installment of our 2026 Summer Speaker Series on Wednesday, July 8, at 6:30 p.m. as historian Tim Krysl returns with another fascinating evening exploring the Reconstruction Era and the pivotal events that shaped the United States of America.

This month's program will tackle thought-provoking questions and surprising stories, including:

-Why didn't the Framers include presidential term limits in the original Constitution?
-Why was the 13th Amendment needed to permanently abolish slavery after the Emancipation Proclamation?
-What conspiracies and unanswered questions still surround John Wilkes Booth and the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln?

Whether you're a lifelong history enthusiast or simply enjoy discovering the stories behind the headlines of the past, you'll leave with a fresh perspective on one of the most transformative periods in American history.

You'll also have the opportunity to help shape our August program by sharing your ideas and questions with Tim during the evening.
