Up until last year when the city of Fergus Falls changed its name, the air field in Fergus Falls was named after an aviator of epic stature. Einar “Micky” Mickelson was the son of Norwegian immigrants with roots in Fargo and York, ND and Henning, MN but he called himself the “Fergus Falls Kid.” See less

It’s Juneteenth all day at the museum! Learn about Black Veterans of Otter Tail County from the Fur Trade era through the Vietnam War. Followed by lawn games, crafts and refreshments. Free admission all day.

Participate in the KOQIK Field Day 2026 next weekend (June 27-28). They're hosting an event at the Otter Tail County Historical Society and YOU ARE INVITED! OTCHS will be open from 10am to 2pm. Stop by the KOQIK table any time after noon Saturday, until noon Sunday.

On Sunday we are going to cook breakfast for those present starting at 8:00 am until we run out of food or 9:30, whichever occurs first. Coffee, eggs, bacon and such. Come check out the fun of amateur radio, and have a free breakfast!
