Yesterday twenty 4H students and their parents visited the Forest Heritage and Discovery Center at Caledonia State Park during their field day. They had a lot of great questions about forestry and wildfire fighting.

Friday, 19 October 2018 marks the 80th anniversary of the Pepper Hill Fire which occurred in 1938. On this day, 8 Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) enrollees lost their lives in a wildfire in Forest District 13 near Sinnemahoning, Cameron County. Learn more about the fire here Pepper Hill Fire 1938 Out of respect for the 8 CCC "boys" who lost their lives, please observe a moment of silence on Friday, October 19th at 3:30 PM, the approximate time of the entrapment which led to the fatalities.
