We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to replace the roof on the Lincoln County Museum, thanks to the grants that were awarded to us. As a nonprofit organization, projects like this are only possible through grant funding and the continued support of our community.

A special thank you to our past president, John Woodall, for his dedication and hard work in helping secure these grants. His efforts have made a lasting impact on preserving our museum. We also want to thank T& L Roofing for their work on this important project.

Our museum is housed in a 100-year-old building, and preserving it is truly a labor of love. We are open Friday and Saturday from 10:30 AM – 4:30 PM, May through the second weekend in November. The museum is operated by dedicated volunteers and board members who give their time to keep our local history alive.

We invite everyone in the community to come visit, explore Lincoln County’s history, and see the updates. Your support means everything to us, and donations are always appreciated as we continue this important work.

Meet the Member: John Woodall, President of the Lincoln County Museum Board

The Lincoln County Museum has been preserving our community’s history since 1985 — and John Woodall has been at the heart of that mission. Once home to the old Borden Dairy Plant, the building was donated by Bill Carter after the Fayetteville Homemakers Club raised the first $3,000 to start the museum.

John’s favorite part of serving on the board? “Preserving history,” he says. “This is where the real history of Lincoln County lives — not just on paper, but in the artifacts and stories we protect.”

His favorite event is the Pasta Premiere, the museum’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and his favorite exhibit is the Agriculture Room, filled with early machinery that transformed farm life.

Before retirement, John worked as an aerospace engineer, and his love for mechanics and innovation shines through in his appreciation for the museum’s exhibits.

Stop by the Lincoln County Museum to explore local history — and see why preserving our past matters for generations to come.
