Bethany Engstrom: In the Works
Opens Thursday, 31 October 4-7pm
Treats will be served, costumes and kids welcome!

Belfast-based artist Bethany Engstrom works in and around the south branch of the Penobscot River to create video installations and sculpture that touch on natural beauty, labor, isolation, and parenthood. Bethany received her MFA and PhD from the Intermedia Program at UMaine and is currently the managing director of the Speedwell Gallery and Projects in Portland.

The UMF Art Gallery is at 246 Main Street in Farmington behind the Admissions House.

Antoinette Prien Schultze and Brigtitte Keller are longtime friends whose artwork forms a rich abstract conversation on material, natural forms, and modernist design. Schultze's monumental stone, wood and glass sculptures speak to strengths and fragilities of the surrounding environment, while the deceptively complex, layered surfaces of Keller's immersive paintings evoke both the enduring and transient aspects of nature.
