The American Armory Museum will be temporarily closed to ensure the health and safety of you, the guest, and our volunteers. This is a very difficult time for all, and we will follow and respond in real time to the situation.

In the meantime, stay safe, follow guidelines, wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, and don’t panic buy the toilet paper😊

Our Marmon-Herrington CTLS-3 light tank. Originally designed in the late 1930s, they were relegated for training and emergency use for the US Marines and some kept in Alaska for emergency use, with many notably exported to the Netherlands. Our tank is one of the three known of this variant to survive today.

Yet another fine British vehicle among our ranks.
This is a Chieftan tank, which was in the British military’s armory from the late 60s to the 1990s. It succeeded the Centurion tank and then replaced by the Challenger series of tanks.

Some shots of our Ferret Mk. 2 armored car!
These were used extensively by the British and Commonwealth forces. They were in production from 1952-1971, and drawn from British inventory at the end of its production.

At times these vehicles end up seeing use in modern conflict zones, in the hands of guerilla forces.

This photograph was taken in late-January 1945 by a member of the US 776th Field Artillery Battalion. At that time, the unit was in support of the US 26th Infantry Division. I am guessing it cannot be too hard to determine the exact location of where this photograph was taken. The unit CP was in Watrange, Luxembourg at that time.

I believe this photograph was taken in the Lutremange - Lutrebois area of Belgium, South of Bastogne. It reminds me of a US Signal Corps photo I once saw of the US 35th Infantry Division, but cannot get my hands on it anymore. Can anyone help out? Thanks!

The American Armory Museum, one of Fairfield’s newest attractions, is proudly bringing history to life for its visitors with an impressive display of military vehicles and memorabilia.

The museum, located at the intersection of Abernathy Road and Suisun Valley Parkway, is open Wednesday to Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm and admission is always free. There are more than 60 military vehicles on display, many dating back to World War II and the Vietnam War. Visitors have the unique opportunity to see each and every vehicle up close and can even climb inside some of the larger ones for photos.
