We have so many artifacts coming in on a daily basis. We are going to shut down next week to try to get a good control over what we have. And during the winter months, we will have a few weeks here and there we will shut down also, but we will keep all of you posted when they will be, just trying to keep up on documentation. Thank you

We want to thank Nancy Swaim for donating this picture of J.C. Penny to the museum. Mrs. Swain worked for years at JCPenney and this picture always hung in the store here in Fairfield. Many of us remember it well.

We received some old Fairfield yearbooks. This was from the class of 1954. It’s very funny how youth express themselves, even in the 50s. 😂

Do you have any pictures like this in your collection, we’re looking for all this stuff for the history of Jefferson County.

We wanna think, Margaret Berg, for bringing these pictures in for our permanent collection. She took these pictures when Logan school was coming down in 1972. Do you have pictures like this of our community or for the county? We’d love to have them for our permanent collection.

The past two weekends here at the Carnegie Museum. We’ve had a total of nine class reunions represented. Coming years think of your class reunion attending here. It’s a blast from the past.

Do you have pictures of your farms of your houses of the past in the county or in your town within Jefferson County? We are looking for all photographs that we can get to put in our permanent collection. We want to think the Hunt family, this is 501 South Main St in Fairfield. This house in the background was built in 1841 and lived in by Ward Lamson family until the 1958. The house was tore down for the new house existing there. The second picture is of the covered porch on the backside of the house facing Madison Street.

We would like to think Cindy Dunn for giving us this photograph. It was taken in front of Heston and Anderson building on Kirkwood Street. Not sure of the year. If you have any photographs like this for anything in Jefferson County, we would love to have a copy of it or the original for our permanent collection.
