🛶 Out the window it went!

On March 27, our mishoon (dugout canoe) began its journey to conservation. With scaffolding, pulleys, spotters, and plenty of teamwork, the canoe was carefully lowered, moved through a museum window, and safely transported for preservation work.

Thank you to Linda Nieuwenhuizen, Give Me a Break Conservation, and U.S. Art Company for helping protect this important cultural item for future generations.

Connection, care, and community are at the heart of what we do. 🌊✨

A heartfelt thank you to the visitor who gifted Niske, our Ocean Nexus Fellow, with this thoughtful token of appreciation. Moments like these remind us how meaningful Indigenous-led education, storytelling, and environmental stewardship can be.
Every conversation shared helps strengthen relationships between people, place, and water. 💙
