STUDY OF MORNING GLORIES - LOUIS COMFORT TIFFANY | Halim Museum

In October 1913, Louis Comfort Tiffany challenged his glassmakers to depict his watercolor painting, "Morning Glories," in stained glass. It is unique to be able to see the work that informed Tiffany glass, as he was more known for stained glass than for painting. This painting by Louis Comfort Tiffany was a study for a glass piece. Tiffany took "Morning Glories" to Arthur Nash, the superintendent of his glasshouse, and challenged him to recreate it in glass. What resulted were Morning Glory paperweight vases.
