Mrs. Weisbeck's third grade class from Eureka School visited the Museum this morning. They each cranked the butter churn & tasted the fresh butter, they played with old toys and games, and toured the Museum. Most of them said they liked the "Magic" piano (player piano) best. These 14 kids were so well behaved. We hope they come back to visit again.

I should have recorded Hunter and Arlo going through old photos and newspapers as their conversation was very interesting. Today was a good day to be in the Museum as it is rainy & windy outside. Come spend an afternoon looking at old photos, family histories, old newspapers or slowly browse through our displays and you will be amazed at what you find.

It was brought to our attention that the post with the Membership letter may have been considered criticism of the City of Eureka. The post was not intended to be criticism of the City of Eureka and we did not want our followers to post criticisms of the City of Eureka. The post was an effort to gain members/donors for the Museum. The Museum has received funding from the City for over 40 years for which we are very grateful. Over the years we have lost members/donors due to death and the funding from the City became more relied upon by the Museum for operating expenses. The Museum needs to increase membership, hold fundraisers and do whatever else we can to cover operating expenses. We have seen an dramatic increase in our fuel bill, we were told to expect a significant increase in our insurance premiums, etc. We are sure everyone has seen these increases in their cost of living/cost of doing business. The Museum is not destitute, we have funds for projects and money set aside for roof repair when needed. We appreciate all our members, donors and visitors. If you would like to become a member, the Membership letter is in another post. If you have any ideas or suggestions on how we can raise memberships or raise funds for the Museum you can send us a message via our page, there is a Send Message Button.

This is the 2022 Museum Membership letter. Please read the letter and consider making a donation to the Museum. We need all the help we can get to maintain the Museum. We have lost the annual $5,000 allotment from the City of Eureka and have increased expenses such as the price of fuel. Any amount is appreciated, it can be a one time donation or something given annually at the time of year that's best for you.
