Take a step back in time with this special look at the original Euharlee History Museum as it appeared in May 1999.

In this video, longtime Euharlee resident and local historian Ms. Mary Ellen Taff shares the stories, artifacts, and history that helped lay the foundation for preserving Euharlee's heritage. Her passion for local history and dedication to our community played an important role in keeping these stories alive for future generations.

More than 25 years later, it is fascinating to see how the museum has evolved while continuing the same mission of preserving and sharing the history of Euharlee and the surrounding area.

We hope you enjoy this glimpse into the past and remember the people whose efforts helped make historical preservation in Euharlee possible.

Yesterday and today we had the pleasure of welcoming the 8th grade Cartersville City Schools out to Euharlee on our first ever "Tour of Bartow" our site along with Summer Hill Heritage Group, Bartow History Museum with assistance from Official Noble Hill-Wheeler Memorial Center and Euharlee Historical Society made it possible for these amazing kids to get to explore Georgia history in their own community. We get to welcome two more groups tomorrow and hope to make this tour available to local homeschool groups and other Bartow County Schools in the future. When young people learn about the history in their own backyard, discover their roots, and recognize their connections to the community, it encourages a stronger sense of pride, belonging, and stewardship. If you would like to arrange a tour or have questions, please contact one of the participating sites for additional information and assistance.

Thank you Bartow History Museum for sharing this gem! The commissary building has long been a piece of our agricultural history and an important part of our community.

Happy Tuesday!☀️

This week we’re sharing a glimpse into Euharlee’s history with a summer 1991 photograph of The Commissary in Euharlee, Georgia🏛️📸

Originally built in the 1860s, the Euharlee Commissary played an important role for farming tenants. It provided a place where they could purchase goods on credit, allowing families to obtain necessary equipment and supplies while deferring payment until after their crops were sold - typically once a year🌾💳

A small building with a meaningful impact on the daily lives and agricultural economy of the community🌿🏡

At the Euharlee Welcome Center & History Museum, one of our greatest joys is preserving and sharing the memories that make our community special. Today, we’re excited to share a glimpse into Euharlee’s past with 8mm video clips from the late 1960s and early 1970s showing the beloved Kiddie Parade that once brought families together in Downtown Euharlee. We’re also sharing a program from nearly 50 years ago commemorating the dedication and restoration of the historic militia courthouse during Euharlee’s celebration of the Bicentennial.

These moments remind us that Euharlee has always known how to celebrate community, family, and hometown pride. Now those traditions are being brought back to life with the Inaugural Carnival By The Creek at Osborne Park on Saturday, May 30, 2026.

We hope you’ll come out and help start a new old tradition with your family. Euharlee has always been home — now let’s celebrate her, our history, and the wonderful community that continues to keep these traditions alive. ❤️

Step back in time and help us honor a man who helped shape agricultural history right here in our community 🌾

Alphabet Collins wasn’t just an “extension agent extraordinaire”—he was also a member of the Euharlee Farmers Club, connecting him directly to the rich agricultural heritage that defines our story. His legacy stretches from Euharlee to the founding of the Georgia Institute of Genetics, and we’re proud to see that history recognized.

Join our friends at the Bartow History Museum for a special evening of lecture and exhibition unveiling on April 30.
