Join the Estes Park Museum in celebrating American Archives Month during Scrapbooking Your Estes Park Memories. This program will take place on Saturday, October 24 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Museum meeting room at 200 4th St. Estes Park, CO 80517. Participants will learn, safe scrapbooking practices, how history can be seen through scrapbooks, and make their own scrapbook page. All materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring copies of their own photographs that they would like to use in making their page.

This program is free and open to the public and fun for the whole family. Anyone 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult. For more information regarding Estes Park Museum programming, please visit: estes.org/museum/programs.

Join the Estes Park Museum in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! On Tuesday,
October 20 at 6:00 p.m. the museum will be hosting a guided tour with Spanish interpretation of the permanent exhibit, Destination: Estes Park. Spanish translation and interpretation will be provided by Karina Saucedo Olvera.

October is American Archives Month! We want to highlight two individuals at the Estes Park Museum who help keep our archival collection running smoothly!

Curator of Collections Jessica Michak has been at the Estes Park Museum since May of 2017. Her favorite pieces from the archival collection include the historic ledger books from the earliest years of the Elkhorn Lodge and the original hand-drawn poster for the first annual Estes Park Duck Race.

Collections Assistant Mollie Beck started at the Estes Park Museum as the summer seasonal Collections Assistant in May 2023 and started as the full-time Collections Assistant in 2024. The major project she has completed is the processing of the Estes Valley Library collection and is now currently work on the Joe Mills collection. She has also processed other smaller collections in our backlog and continues to help Jessica out with other collections projects. One of her favorite items from the archival collection is a postcard of the switchbacks on fall river road from 1925.

Thank you Jess and Mollie for all of your hard work in our collections and archives! Make sure to say hi to these two if you see them around the Museum!

Mark your calendar for the 10th Annual Creative Colorado TableSetting/Scaping Contest! This event is a fundraiser for the Estes Park Museum Friends & Foundation, Inc. in support of the Estes Park Museum.

Creative Colorado Tablesetting/Scaping invites entrants to demonstrate their talents by creating an inventive dining table that reflects this year’s theme, "National Parks, Monuments & Historic Landmarks, Then or Now." Each competitive entry is reviewed by an independent panel of judges, who determine prize ribbon winners based on creativity, design and adherence to contest and category criteria.

This year's contest is a 3-day event held on November 13, 14, and 15, 2026 at the Ember at Estes Park Resort. The event is also open to public to view and enjoy each creative entry. There will even be a vote for the public to choose their favorite!

Are you a new Estes Park Museum Member? Join us for a guided tour of Destination: Estes Park, the permanent exhibition in the main gallery of the Museum! The tour will take place on Thursday, September 24 at 4:00 p.m.

Museum Director Derek Fortini and Curator of Interpretation Mikaela Fundaun will discuss Estes Park History, historic artifacts, local art and artists, and much more. Museum members may bring a plus one to this event, no RSVP necessary. This tour will be a repeat of tour that have taken place previously and offered quarterly throughout the year.
