Adirondack Art Association We display and sell fine artwork by local artists. We are located on the shores of Lake Champlain, in historic Essex, NY.

The Adirondack Art Association is a nonprofit regional arts organization whose purpose is to encourage good friendship among artists and art enthusiasts alike. By providing social activities including gallery openings, educational workshops and lectures, the AAA continues to encourage community creativity by offering many means of art appreciation. If you have not been to the 1867 Schoolhouse for the Dennon Walantus Exhibition yet you still have until September 7th. Dennon’s show has been extended to run through Labor Day! We will be open Friday through Monday from 11 am to 3pm this coming weekend, this is a must see exhibition, hope to see you there!!!

Thank you to everyone who attended Lynda Mussen’s opening reception at the Main Street Gallery on Friday evening. The evening started off with a very informative talk from Lynda explaining how she started painting, the subject matter that she enjoys painting most and her continued learning process with each painting that she completes.

The opening was very well attended with lots of great company, refreshments and fun for all who came by.

Lynda’s show will be running into October so please get out and see it for yourself. We are currently open 7 days a week from 11 to 5 , hope to see you all soon!

We are thrilled to showcase this curated collection vibrant and emotive works of AAA Artist Member and contemporary fine artist, Lynda Mussen. Working in oils, graphite, and watercolor, Lynda beautifully captures fleeting moments in time and pays a soulful homage to the region's nature and signature vistas — from expansive Adirondack 'en plein air' landscapes and bucolic pastoral scenes, to studies of rural architecture, animals, and poignant still lifes.

This beautifully detailed watercolor is called Peach Bowl and was done by Lucy Totten. Lucy has shown many watercolors at our gallery over the years from alluring desert and Adirondack landscapes to paintings just like this still life. You really need to see this in person to get the true feeling, detail and stunning color of this piece.

✨ ROBERT POWELL | OPENING RECEPTION THIS FRIDAY! ✨

Join us this Friday, August 7th (5PM - 7PM), at the Adirondack Art Association's Main Gallery as we celebrate the opening of a brand-new 'Featured Artist' exhibition celebrating the diverse creative works of painter + printmaker (and AAA Arist Member), Robert Powell! 🎨

From his early days as a Madison Avenue creative director to over 30 years of dedication to environmental land preservation, Powell’s unique journey deeply influences his stunning Adirondack landscape paintings and striking hand-made prints. To make this evening a little more special, Robert will be giving a short talk during the Opening Reception — a fantastic opportunity to hear first-hand about his creative process, his techniques as an oil painter and printmaker, and his philosophy of continuous artistic growth over his long career.

Come by and say hello, meet Robert Powell, view the new exhibition before dinner, and enjoy refreshments, light nibbles, and fellowship with new and old friends, local artists, and the many members of our local creative community — right on Main Street in idyllic Essex, NY.

2 big events happening in Essex this Saturday!

The Adirondack Art Association will be having an opening for our second show of the season at the 1867 Schoolhouse Gallery right up the road from our Main Street Gallery.

Oil painter Dennon Walantus will be showing his amazing work every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 3 pm for the entire month of August.

There will be no opening reception for the opening, instead Dennon will be at the Gallery all weekend Aug. 1st and 2nd holding a painting demonstration from 11 to 3 and will be answering questions and speaking with curious visitors about his techniques and work. There will be plenty of refreshments, interesting company and of course great artwork!

Essex Day! Come celebrate history at our towns 52nd Annual Essex Day celebration. Saturday, August 1st from10 am to 2 pm. The Art Association will be open during this celebration at both our Main Street Gallery and 1867 Schoolhouse Gallery. Hope to see you there!

✨ This Saturday! ESSEX DAY EVENT ✨ Join us this Saturday, August 1st, at our historic 1867 Schoolhouse gallery location for the opening of a brand-new exhibition featuring the incredible oil paintings of talented emerging artist, Dennon Walantus! 🎨

To celebrate opening day of his show (and Essex Day!), Dennon will be on-site doing a live painting demonstration. This is a fantastic opportunity to see a working artist in action, meet Dennon in person, and view his stunning collection.

The showcase will be on display through August 30th, but you won’t want to miss this special opening day event while you are out enjoying the town festivities!
