After 13 years and more than 100 juried photography exhibitions, the Darkroom Gallery, located next to Martoneโs near the Five Corners, will close on December 31st.
Owner Ken Signorello said, โWe had a good run, exhibiting the work of fine photographers from around the world. Even though we had some great help, we never quite recovered from the pandemic. Many will remember my associates, Damaris Drummond and Tim Gottshall, both instrumental to our longevity and impossible to replace.โ
Darkroom Gallery will host a going out of business sale at 12 Main St. this Friday, November 24th!
Signorello said there are many items for sale, including picture frames, chairs, tables, photography books, and even an old paper cutter.
Not wanting such a prominent space left vacant, Signorello searched for a replacement tenant. A new business has secured the space and should be up and running after a month of conversion.
Jake Tran, owner of two Essex Junction eateries, The FireBird Cafe and The Nest, will be setting up โBespoke Bikes & Everyday Special Things.โ Tran says the slogan of the new retail store is โchoose well and buy less.โ Tran said that his new store will โbuild custom bikes and stock everyday special things that we are proud to own and have them last a long time.โ
