Meet Avery, a third grader from Wattsburg Area School District who visited the museum on a free field trip and came back as an inventor 🌟

Her idea? MagnaBuddy, a simple magnet system that helps kids who can't tie their shoes yet (or anyone with limited dexterity) get the look of a tied shoe in seconds 👟 Avery designed it and even built her own prototype using a 3D printer pen, then Nick and the Gannon Makerspace team brought it to life with custom rubber grommets and embedded magnets!

Avery walked away with a $425 Certificate of Deposit from Marquette Savings Bank and her very own 3D printer, courtesy of Board Vice President Dr. Karinna Vernaza.

This is what happens when kids are given the space to dream big, thanks to support from Erie Insurance's EITC program!

Made in the USA is almost here and we are so ready to celebrate 🌟

On July 1st, the museum is going all in on America's 250th birthday with local artisans, hands-on activities, and experiences that bring American tradition to life through play. One of those artisans is Jess Royer of Royer Threads, who is bringing hands-on embroidery kits for kids complete with red, white, blue, and yes, glow in the dark beads.

His idea? A Solar Panel Charging Hat that powers your phone while you walk! Liam designed it, Nick and the Gannon Makerspace team built it, and it came to life with 10 solar panels, a custom 3D-printed enclosure, and one big idea.
