Andrew Jackson Tigard’s family history. Found in the document archives in the John Tigard House museum in Tigard Oregon.

A J Tigard is Jerusha White Hedding’s grandfather. He came west in the 1860’s and settled in both the Portland area and then filed for a homestead in Yakima. He is buried in Yakima. His daughter was Mary Francis Tigard Wilcox White Fear.

Pioneers of Yakima. At this time in Aug 2026 it has broken off of its base. I do not know how to fix this but it appears to simply have been glued to the base but is now sitting in the grass next to the base. I wonder if Tahoma National Cemetery fixes things like this when they happen or if we are supposed to come do it ourselves.

Donna Woods, Kathy Hawley and I (Suzanne Hawley), took a road trip to Tigard, Oregon. We toured the John Tigard house with a personal tour by the now retired “first president” of the John Tigard House historical museum. This is a stop to put on your list if you’re around the Portland area. Andrew Jackson Tigard was our ancestral line.
