IBM Country Club Cafeteria/IBM Bowling Team - Good food was available at the IBM Country Club Cafeteria, even during WWII. Alcohol was never allowed, being aligned with Thomas J. Watson’s beliefs. Much of the food was grown on the IBM farms.
In 1942, during the war, the gas shortage was so impactful that this IBM Bowling Team traveled to a tournament by horse and wagon. The horses and carts were supplied by the IBM farms.

Thanks to Jeff Kellam for the photo (at the bottom) of the Esso gas station in the lighthouse on the corner of Nanticoke and West Main. Our lighthouse wall is now complete with a painting at the top, the original blueprints in the middle and Jeff’s photo at the bottom.

Much thanks to Susan Papathomopoulos for the donation of 2 cast iron hanging lights (1 is hooked onto the bottom of the other) taken from a 1934 E-J home in Endicott. You would not want one of these falling on your head!
