After an incredible 28 years as director of the Gem County Museum, our Meg is retiring! ❤️

For nearly three decades, Meg has dedicated herself to preserving, protecting, and sharing the history of Gem County. Her passion and commitment to the museum have helped ensure that the stories, photographs, artifacts, and memories of our community will be treasured for generations to come. We are so grateful for the countless hours, dedication, and heart Meg has given to the museum and to our community. Her contributions have left a lasting mark and she will certainly be missed!

Please join us in thanking Meg and wishing her a very happy and well-deserved retirement! 🎉

Stepping into her role is long-time resident, Bree Perkins. You may recognize her from the mobile bookstore, Perkins Cove Books! She's been volunteering and learning from Meg for the past 3 years. She's in her last semester at Idaho State University, where she will graduate with her bachelor's degree in history. She plans to bring bright new ideas for exhibits and events, as well as renew connections between the museum and the community.

Please join us in welcoming Bree to her role as director of the museum! 🎉

If you've been to the museum, you may have seen the WWII lantern from the USS Arizona in our military exhibit. We've recently been given 5 copies of Brothers Down, a heroic account of the men serving on the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor. Grab a copy this week before they're gone.
