The Elwood Heritage Center is dedicated to preserving the past for our future. The Heritage Center has been a work in progress to provide a place for Elwood history to be displayed to the public. Items displayed have been donated to keep Elwood history alive.

Do not forget Friday we will be open from 1 to 5 with a special display on the home front.
Saturday we will have a special program "Elwood on the Home Front" by Jon Huffman at 10:30 AM at the public library. We will then be open from 12 to 3 PM at the museum!

We are excited to announce that for the month of May we will be have a special display on the Home Front during World War II with items from Elwood during the war. This will be followed by a special presentation at the Elwood Public Library at 10:30 AM on Saturday the 18th by Jonathan Huffman with his program "Elwood on the Home Front".

Titanic Voyage - April 14 (Day 5) - Her Last Day

At 11:40 PM on April 14, 1912 the Titanic spots an iceberg dead ahead, they attempt to turn away though the ship still scrapes against it. This will be the final day for the famed HMS Titanic and many of her staff and passengers as an estimated 1,517 people would die.

Tomorrow April 15th is National Titanic Remembrance Day. We will continue to have our special Titanic display up this upcoming Saturday from 12 to 3 PM. Come by to see the display and learn about the Titanic survivor that lived here in Elwood.

April 14 was an eventful day, even aside from the late night collision. From Christian Services to dinner parties, Sunday was the biggest day of the voyage.

A new video has been uploaded to Our Memories on YouTube in celebration of the anniversary of Wendell Willkie coming to town on August 17th.

Don't forget Friday and Saturday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday 12 to 4 PM the Elwood Heritage Center will be open for a special Willkie display for those three days only!!!

Have you heard? We will have a special Willkie display at the Elwood Heritage Center during the Glass Festival only! If you would like to see our display then come by on one of the three days! We will be taking the display down following the Glass Festival and will return to our normal displays.

Our hours will be:

On June 26th the Elwood Heritage Center will be at Dairy Queen doing a fundraiser so come on out from 4 to 9 PM to support us as we raise money for the center! We shall have membership cards for anyone that wishes to join (dues are 15 Dollars a year) and we are more than happy to talk about what we are doing for Elwood's history!
