Well it’s Day 2 for the Austin Train Show. We are having a wonderful time.
Everyone loves the Alamo 127.
We had a G scale replica model made of the Alamo railcar, which we have on display here at the show, our model even has an interior! Well she is a big hit!

We are here for day one at the Austin Train Show. We are having a great time meeting new people and connecting with old friends.

We will be at the Austin Area Train Show, which is being held in the Palmer Convention Center, Austin Texas, Saturday and Sunday.
Sooo…come out and bring the entire family. Enjoy trains, trains everywhere and train layouts.

Come on out! We are open and giving tours of the 1926 Southern Pacific business car,
the Alamo 127. Check out our large collection of railroad artifacts.
And while you are here learn about Elmendorf’s rich history in the early development of the area.
Elmendorf was a station stop on the San Antonio and Aransas Pass
Railway. It had a beautiful Depot, a long with several industries that were serviced by the SA&AP Railway. It had a passing siding that allowed trains, north bound and south bound to pass each other without having to stop. Elmendorf received several passenger trains on a daily basis.
Pottery and clay brick was produced here and shipped by rail. In fact the building that EHRM and the library are in, was the office for the brick company.
Cotton that was grown in the area was processed at the Gillett Cotton Gin and shipped by rail. Both of these industries had their own railroad sidings for easy loading and shipping.
Yes, Elmendorf was a busy small town and will be again, very soon.
