Help the National New York Central Railroad Museum celebrate 175 years of railroads in Elkhart on October 3rd!

🥳 We are just two months away from celebrating the 175th anniversary of rail in Elkhart!!! Join us at the museum on October 3 from 11 AM to 4 PM for an unforgettable day filled with history and fun at the very location the first train passed through!
Visitors will receive a coupon for a free snow cone from Kona Ice and free popcorn when they enter. In the pioneer play area, kids will learn about what life in Elkhart was like in 1851 with fun and informative games and activities!
If you’re hungry, stop by the H&E BBQ food truck. For adults, there will be a beer wagon and canned cocktails.
So come on down, enjoy some food, listen to good music, and learn a little while you’re at it! 🎈

Ruthmere got a llama 🦙
Okay, not that kind of llama - it's the truck kind. Thanks to the financial support of the Community Foundation and some private donors, we were able to get this much-needed llama truck for work around the grounds. This brand new piece of equipment is going to make so many jobs on Ruthmere Campus easier for our Gardens & Grounds Manager!

It will take more than a little rain to keep us from enjoying a Saturday morning! 30-Year Wait performed for us at Coffee on the Piazza today as scheduled, and some people still braved the rain to come enjoy coffee, donuts, and music with us! 🍩🎶

Also, enjoy some pictures from last week of performer Doug Harsch - the weather was better, but the music was great both times. 😄

Join us for some fun this Sunday (8/2/26)! From 1 - 4 pm, we are opening up Ruthmere Mansion for FREE tours. Now is your chance to see this beautiful, historic 1910 home for free! We even have some Spanish translation guides for guests upon request!

In addition, we are hosting our annual Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social - free ice cream will be available (donations to the museum appreciated!), the Power Chord barbershop quartet will be performing, and if weather allows, we will do some fun outdoor music and coloring activities with kids. Don't miss out! 🍨
