Oliver Kelley Farm Visit the historic 1860's farmstead and our modern Farm Lab area during your visit. Help with chores & learn about farming new and old!

The Oliver Kelley Farm is closed to the public for the season. We will reopen in the spring for K-12 field trips and public programming.

It is National I Love Yarn Day! To celebrate, we are showcasing fiber arts today and welcome you to join in. Bring a project and drop in to our craft circle - and keep an eye out for future craft circles that will be happening on the farm!

Join us for a hands-on class introducing young chefs to essential pastry and baking techniques. Students will learn the science of custards while baking sweet bread pudding muffins, master the delicate pan control required for French crepes, and explore aeration by whipping homemade cream from scratch.

This event is ideal for ages 8-14, though there is no age limit. Adults can attend with children for the ticket price. Children between 5-8 must be accompanied by an adult. This event is not suited for children younger than 5 years old.

Join us on Saturday (September 26) for Prairie Sugar Day, when we process sorghum straight from the fields into "prairie sugar" or sorghum molasses.

Strip the canes, watch the horse-powered press at work, smell the juice as it boils down into molasses, and enjoy a sweet sorghum treat.

Pickling days at the Farm start today and go until Friday from 10 AM - 2 PM!

Step into the Learning Kitchen and sample what a 19th century pickle would have tasted like, and participate in the process of making pickles the way it was done 150 years ago.

Note: this is a drop-in workshop with walk-ups welcome!

Calling all arts & crafts vendors!

We are looking into holding an art fair at the farm during our Christmas on the Farm event, Saturday, December 12th of this year, from 10-2.

Visitors would have free access to the art fair and to a Santa Claus meet & greet in the visitor center, and could purchase further admission to our Christmas event on the historic farm.

The art fair would be located indoors inside our visitor center, and each vendor would be provided a designated space with two 5ft tables and needed chairs.

Each vendor would have to be able to accept their own forms of payment. There would also be a vendor fee of $20, which will be donated to our animal feed fund.

If you are interested in being a vendor at this event, please send us a message, and we will be in contact with a sign-up form and more information.
