Home on the range?

Before campers, RVs, tiny houses and mobile homes, there were sheep wagons: Covered wagons people lived in while needing to be out on the range! You can learn all about the history of these wagons as well as take a peak into what living in one looked like when you visit us at the Elk Mountain Museum this summer!

Special thanks to Mayor Irene, Paul Clark, Brett Larson and Eli Hobbs for reading the declaration out loud to us. Another special thanks to the Park Board for putting together the ice cream social that followed this historic event!

As we look forward to our Nation's 250th birthday, we can't help but take a moment to recognize the many Veterans that have come from Elk Mountain. We hope you'll stop by to learn more about the brave individuals who left their quiet mountain town to go serve their country.
