Arts of the Albemarle (AoA) is a regional non-profit arts organization located in Downtown Elizabeth City, North Carolina. This world-class facility houses the Jaquelin Jenkins Gallery, a home to over 250 artists, craftsman and photographers, the AoA School of the Arts, a multi-discipline visual and performing arts after –school program and the Maguire Theatre, a State-of-the-Art 230 Seat performance space.

We are THRILLED to announce that Christina Robart will be joining our team to teach Improv and Theater at AOA this Fall!

She will be offering two different types of classes....

1. A Christmas Carol Class and Rehearsal - This class with a performance will be a great chance for experienced actors or for those who want to try acting for the first time. Children will learn acting and improv skills, gain confidence and learn to work as a team. The class will work on a short, family-friendly adaptation of "A Christmas Carol" to be performed for the community the weekend of December 9th-11th. This class will be offered in the morning for home-school students as well as in the evenings. See registration form and website for more info!

2. Improv Class - We will learn all about the world of Improv, and how it is beneficial in theater and also in the real world. Students will learn new concepts each week and practice through improv games. This is a fun and interactive class, that helps children with social anxiety. Students will grow in confidence both on and off stage.

These programs will be offered for students 8-18 years old. Each class has a maximum of 20 students.
