El Dorado Western Railway Foundation Come ride the train on the oldest railroad line west of the Mississippi! Please support El Dorado County's own railroad. (weather permitting).

As the operational component for the El Dorado County Historical Railroad Park, the El Dorado Western Railroad gives train rides on an on-going basis. Trains currently operate from the El Dorado Station on the 1st and 3rd Sundays at 4650 Oriental Rd, El Dorado, CA 95623 and the last Saturday of the month at 4241 Mother Lode Dr, Shingle Springs, CA 95682. Trains depart the station at 10 a.m., 11 a.

m. 12 noon and 1 p.m. The round trip is 30 to 40 minutes, depending on location. Suggested donation is $8 for adults (ages 9 and up) and $3 for 3 to 8. Age 2 and under ride for free. We'll see you on the train!

$12 for adults & children 9 & up
$3 for children 4 to 8
Free for children 3 & under

A processing fee is added to each ticket.

Call (530) 663-3581 for questions and to confirm departure times. The telephone is only monitored on scheduled train ride days from 9 am to 1 pm. Please remember that there are a limited number of seats available for each train; so, make your reservation early. A limited number of walk-on tickets will be available from the station agent. Riders 17 years old and younger must be accompanied by a responsible adult. No animals are allowed on board. The round trip (50 to 60 minutes) takes you east from the depot on the historic Southern Pacific Placerville Branch rail line. The train stops short of Missouri Flat Road, before returning to the depot.

Great Train Robbery-Who Done It? Mystery!

Purchase your tickets today for the "Who Done It? Mystery Train." Rides are scheduled for September 5 & 12. Trains depart the depot at 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM and 12:00 PM on both days.
