We need aerospace professionals in the AV to come out and talk to our Junior Test Pilots this summer! We offer a free program at Blackbird Airpark every summer (generously funded by Northrop Grumman Corporation and Lockheed Martin), and our career development portion is very important. We need volunteers to just come out and talk about their careers in aerospace for 1/2 hour! Please see our flyer!

Please note, the times are off! I had to set the volunteer slots to noon and 12:30 instead of 11:00 and 11:30. Also, we can be flexible with times if you can come earlier!

Many thanks in advance. The career development and exposure portion of this program is very important to me. In my work at the museum, I have found that only about 15% of the children in the AV have any relatives in the aerospace industry. It's important for them to understand the careers available in their own backyards.

Anyone know how we can acquire a 30.00 - 33 tire for this little baby...we only need one. The right front has torn open. Once changed, we can tow this to our restoration facility and see about making it operational.

A special thank you to the Air Force Research Lab STEM programs for the grant funding to share this story with the world and the students of the Los Angeles Unified School District (KLCS is the PBS station for the LAUSD). The documentary provides rare access to the engineers, researchers, and test pilots shaping the next generation of hypersonic aircraft, electric air mobility, and commercial spaceflight. From the moment Chuck Yeager shattered the sound barrier in 1947, California’s Aerospace Valley has served as one of the world’s most important proving grounds for aviation and space innovation. Stretching from US A.F. Plant 42 to the Mojave Air & Space Port, this desert corridor has played a pivotal role in the design, development, and flight testing of revolutionary aircraft and spacecraft. Here, experimental programs such as the North American X-15 helped open the door to the space age, while iconic aircraft like the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird demonstrated the limits of speed and altitude.
Today, Aerospace Valley remains at the forefront of aerospace innovation. Companies including Northrop Grumman Corporation, The Boeing Company, Scaled Composites, Pratt & Whitney, and Lockheed Martin continue to advance cutting-edge systems alongside emerging pioneers such as Stratolaunch, Blue Origin, and Joby Aviation eVTOL.

The Flight Test Historical Foundation is the sole fundraising 501(c)(3) for the Flight Test Museum. This documentary is airing on KLCS/PBS and was co-produced the FTHF under the direction of our Director of Education, Dr. Lisa Sheldon Brown.
