Enjoy a visit to the **Carriage House** at Heritage Park Museum of East Texas!

This board-and-batten structure was designed and constructed by Tom Clyce in 1995. It was built to showcase the vintage vehicles and farm equipment that have been collected by the museum through the years.

The mission of Heritage Park Museum of East Texas is to preserve the rural heritage of East Texas. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, owned and operated by our dedicated membership.

With the start of a new school year, we decided to focus on the Myrtle Springs Schoolhouse!

As you walk through the schoolhouse, take a moment to notice the names of educators honored on the desks. These little details help bring our local history to life and remind us of those who helped shape generations of students.

Don’t worry if you’ve never done anything like this before. We provide you with a script, and we can pair you with an experienced volunteer until you feel comfortable on your own.

Welcome to Museum Monday!

Each Monday, we’ll be sharing a little of our story and showcasing some of the historic buildings that make Heritage Park Museum of East Texas special.

The Heritage Park Museum of East Texas in Edgewood began in 1976 as an ongoing Bicentennial preservation project. Our very first building moved to the Park was the A.L. Spradlin Log Cabin.

Join us each Monday as we take a look back at our history, share interesting stories, and highlight the buildings and treasures that help preserve the history of East Texas.
