Our shellfish farm tours on August 21st and September 18th will be offered in partnership with the Wellfleet Historical Society and Museum and offer participants an Indigenous perspective to the art of shellfishing. Wampanoag native Marcus Hendricks will discuss historical and contemporary shellfish practices, the cultural significance of Wampum and quahogs in general, shellfishing and the relationship to the land, and the sustainability and reverence for ecology and natural aquaculture systems.
