It started with a poem. It became a mission.
Sometimes, the smallest things can make the biggest difference.
After reading Joshua T. Dickerson’s poem, “Cause I Ain’t Got a Pencil,” I couldn’t stop thinking about what our community could do to help. That reflection became the inspiration for the Crittenden County Museum’s countywide Back-to-School Pencil Drive.
A heartfelt thank you to a wonderful couple from Crawfordsville, Arkansas, who believed in this mission from the very beginning. The moment they saw the first draft, they made the very first donation of $100. Your generosity has already helped move this effort forward, and I am truly grateful.
If just 65 people donate $20, we’ll be well on our way to providing pencils for approximately 9,334 students across Crittenden County.
If this message speaks to you, please consider donating, sharing this post, and encouraging others to do the same.
Together, we can help ensure that no child in Crittenden County has to say, “Cause I Ain’t Got a Pencil.” ✏️❤️
