We’re grateful to collaborate with y’all in preserving the rich history of Eagle Pass. 🏛️It’s great to see others in our community dedicated to keeping our history and stories alive.

Maverick County witnessed its only public hanging. ⚖️

Tonight at 7:00 PM, the Eagle Pass Main Street Program will share the story and history surrounding this event at the historic Riskind Building. 🏛️

Come hear the story of what happened 135 years ago and discover a piece of Maverick County’s past. 📜

Downtown is more than the buildings and businesses we see today, it’s filled with stories, people, and moments that have shaped our community for generations.

Join us at the Historic Riskind Building in Downtown Eagle Pass for a special evening of storytelling as Jeff Taylor, Joe Cruz & Pete Macias take us back to September 18, 1891, to explore the remarkable true story of Dick Duncan and the first and only hanging in Maverick County, Texas.
