Volunteers make Dunsmuir happen! Everywhere you see something great, volunteers are behind it.

Siskiyou Arts Museum is a volunteer run nonprofit with volunteers both behind and in front of the scenes bringing local artists together with our community.

Here is Peter Kiefer, SAM’s facility guy and board member with newly repaired doors in our maker’s space. He has been working tirelessly to fix up things in this space with funds generously provided through Dunsmuir’s Waterfall grant program. Thank you Peter and thank you City of Dunsmuir!

The arts come in many creative forms, not just things we can hang on our wall or put on a pedestal. Every once in a while someone will come into SAM and ask to play the piano. The answer is always “yes please!” Here’s a quick snippet of our recent impromptu concert.

Two things to participate in at SAM!

The Botanical Pounding Dyeing class moved to September 19th! Limited to 10 participants! Give SAM a call at 530.235.4711 to reserve your spot. Just $40! Come experience extracting natural colors from flowers to create your own custom bag.

AND a few month ago we relocated an Art Drop Box right next to SAM. It’s like a free library for art supplies! If you have extra supplies drop them by, or if you need supplies, take a look! Let’s get unused art supplies into the hands of our artists new and old!

Sneak Peak! Siskiyou Arts Association’s 68th Annual Exhibit opening reception is Saturday night, August 8th from 4 to 7PM. Come join us for refreshments and meet the artists!

We’ll be open late tonight, August 1st, during Dunsmuir’s Brewfest downtown! Come downtown, enjoy the music at two stages, try some different beers, and swing by Siskiyou Arts Museum to cool off and take in the last night of the College of the Siskiyou’s show.
