Service dogs trainees have been hard at work at the Wheels O' Time this afternoon, adapting to a variety of stimulating environments while following commands. Sometimes, learning is just one step at a time! This trainee, Otter, is learning to take it slow while going down stairs. Patience is key!

For those interested in local history, we have a special event lined up for tomorrow! Dale Jenkins is joining us at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow (August 29th) to discuss the history of interurbans in the area and the Illinois Terminal Railroad, and how they connected our local community throughout the years. After the presentation, be sure to check out our train car on display and the five different cabins! Everyone is welcome—we hope to see you there!

🐕‍🦺 Special four-legged trainees will be visiting the museum this Sunday!

Beginning around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, Paws Giving Independence NFP will bring service dogs in training to explore the museum’s sights, sounds, and exhibits.

This volunteer-run organization trains and places service dogs with people of all ages and abilities, helping them live more independently. Their visit gives the dogs valuable experience in a stimulating public setting.

Stop by to see these amazing dogs and their handlers in action! Please remember: service dogs in training are working, so give them space and ask their handler before approaching.

Get ready for an exciting weekend at Wheels O’ Time Museum! 🚗🐝🔨🎉

Saturday brings history, horsepower, and hands-on fun! Join us for the Cruise-In, meet local beekeepers, and watch our blacksmith demonstrate traditional metalworking at the forge. There will be something interesting for all ages to discover.

Then, bring the whole family back on Sunday, August 23, from 12–2 p.m. for a FREE Family Fun Fair! Thanks to the generous sponsorship of our local legislators, admission is free for everyone attending during the Fun Fair.

🥃 Travel the world—one sip at a time!

Join Wheels O’ Time Museum for an unforgettable Around-the-World Whiskey Tasting Fundraiser on Thursday, September 10 at 6:00 PM.

Whiskey aficionado Hugh Higgins, owner of Hearth Restaurant in Peoria Heights, will guide guests through a tasting of distinctive whiskeys from around the globe. Your evening also includes savory snacks in our Generations Building and decadent desserts served aboard the beautifully restored Vonachen’s Old Place rail cars—a one-of-a-kind setting you will not want to miss.
