After visiting Frank Lloyd Wright in Wisconsin, I.N. and Bernardine Hagan fell in love with the intricate dentil details on the Richard Smith House in Jefferson, Wisconsin a neighborhood outside of Madison. The Hagans asked Wright to add similar details to their house.
800 linear feet of dentil detailing surround the roof and ceilings at Kentuck K**b. Approximately 500 feet accentuates the cantilevered roof, with 300 feet of detailing around each of the hexagonal trellis openings.
The details add a dynamic point of interest to an otherwise overlooked space, drawing the visitor's attention to it. The way the light catches the wooden edges through the skylights makes these architectural features even more striking.
