Sunday’s Boston Tea Party Celebration event was a success. Thank you to everyone who attended and to those with the Daniel Boone Wilderness Trail Association, VA250, and Natural Tunnel State Park who worked to organize this program. A special thanks to the excellent and professional Pam Eddy who provided an immersive and engaging interpretive experience to those present. We look forward to providing more historic programs in the near future, so stay tuned!

Step back in time and experience a Colonial American Tea Party.

The Daniel Boone Wilderness Trail Association, in partnership with Scott County 250 and Natural Tunnel State Park, is hosting a Colonial Era Tea Party featuring renowned historian and interpreter Pam Eddy. Ms. Eddy had 27 years of experience as a historic interpreter with the National Park Service at Cumberland Gap and now operates her own independent business in Cumberland Gap, Tennessee.

The Tea Party will feature the period of tea made famous in 1773. Attendees are welcome to dress in period attire and bring their own heirloom tea cups if desired. The program is geared toward those 18 and over. Three tea servings are planned along with “biscuits.”

The Tea Party will be held at The Daniel Boone Interpretive Center, 371 Technology Trail Ln., Duffield, Va.; on Sunday, October 1st from 2pm till 4pm. Seating is limited and advanced registration is encouraged.

Tickets are $22.00 in advance or $25.00 at the door, if available. Seating is limited to 50 people. For more information on tickets please visit the DBWTA website - https://danielboonetrail.com/

Come and sip a cup of Colonial Bohea tea, hear the sordid history of the British East India Tea Company, and learn “proper tea etiquette “ of the era.

As you are well aware, the COVID-19 pandemic remains a major concern for public safety in Virginia. The State of Virginia has implemented strict guidelines to ensure that everyone's safety is not jeopardized due to crowd sizes at various events throughout the Commonwealth. After careful consideration, it is with sincere regret that the Daniel Boone Wilderness Trail Association will not be holding the annual Frontier Muster and Trade Faire this year. Please understand that our primary objective is for everyone's safety. Additional information will be forthcoming regarding the staffing of the Wilderness Road Blockhouse on the weekends and also program support at the Daniel Boone Wilderness Trail Interpretive Center. Please stay safe and remember to adhere to the social distancing guidelines.

It's so great that Mountain Empire Community College found a way to still host this wonderful program. 49 years strong!

Park staff and volunteers teamed up with Mountain Empire Community College to represent Natural Tunnel State Park in the 2020 Virtual Home Craft Days program. We can't wait to see the finished product!
