COMING SOON! A Book Launch Party!

Our Artist in Residence Eve Trow Turek has written and illustrated a wonderful new 4-Volume Series entitled “Seeking Grace, Finding Refuge - Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge.”
Each volume has on a different focus- The Red Wolf, Wings to Water, From Field to Sky and Black Bears.

October 10th is World Mental Health Day.
First celebrated in 1992, the overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health.

Always be kind.
If you see someone falling behind, walk beside them.
If someone is being ignored, find a way to include them.
If someone has been knocked down, lift them up. Always remind people of their worth.
Be who you needed when you were going through hard times.
Just one small act of kindness could mean the world to someone.

10 YEARS AGO TODAY- our friend Kate at Candy & Corks was securing Stargazer in anticipation of Hurricane Matthew.

On October 8, 2016, the Outer Banks of North Carolina faced severe weather and widespread flooding from Hurricane Matthew. The storm never technically made landfall in North Carolina (it tracked just off the coast after hitting South Carolina) but it produced unprecedented sound-side flooding. The town of Duck recorded gusts between 75 and 90 mph.

We are not slowing down! Weekly deliveries are keeping our shelves full and fresh with new items! Today we are unpacking treasures from Pottery Chick, Sound Shore Pottery and local Pam Lassiter. We also have new driftwood crosses from legendary OBX musician Mojo Collins!

Artist statement: Specializing in oils, I enjoy painting both humorous and vintage subject matter. Every image is a unique challenge and an opportunity to improve technique.

New Artist Alert- Todd Hale is a mixed media artist and photographer based in Nags Head NC and Richmond VA. In the off-season he is part of the vibrant art community in Richmond.

Cyanotype is the “original” sun-printing process, one of the earliest photographic techniques. Discovered in 1842, it harnesses the power of the sun to produce rich, Prussian blue monochromatic prints.

We are proud to have two original cyanotypes made by Todd and the Sun of the Outer Banks!
