I had a super fun time this past Wednesday, teaming up with Mollie from Cable Natural History Museum to teach this class at the Wake Robin Pavilion in Cable, WI. Mollie, the naturalist, gave an informative presentation about flowers, to give us a scientific background before creating drawings of close-ups of flowers using various drawing materials. Please click on each photo for a brief description and to see everyone in class along with a group photo of the participants. Thank you to everyone who participated!

My next project is to prepare for my August 26th five hour "Zooming in on Flowers" drawing class through Cable Natural History Museum. The class is full with 12 people and several on the wait list. The subject must be popular! I enjoyed meeting with museum naturalist Mollie Kreb-Mertig recently. She placed each flower I brought under a digital microscope to take a close look. She printed many images that we will use for inspiration in class after she does a short presentation about flowers. This flower is a geranium and the close-up image is on the computer screen. It's enjoyable to combine science and art in a class. IF you have registered for this class, you will receive an email from me soon with details about the class. Thank you!

I always enjoy receiving photos from collectors/friends that show where they hang my art work they purchased. This shows an oil painting on board of a wildflower field I created depicting a scene near our home, hanging above another piece. Thank you, Josie, for sharing it with me.

Here are two photos taken during the final Day 3 of the CHARAC art crawl—Sunday, August 9th. I had 35 visitors at my studio during the 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. shorter day. Special thanks to EVERYONE who visited. I'm thankful for every sale. And thank you to my greeter, Kelly Randolph, who was a great help in making the yard look nice and watering plants during our long drought. Our last visitor on Sunday was our neighbor Jake and his young pre-school age daughter. I pulled out paper and markers for her and she created a drawing of Kelly (on the right) and me on the left. And she requested I hang it in my studio, so I taped it to my inside studio door. A budding artist!
