Attention all history buffs! Join us at the Bucks County Civil War Museum this Saturday, August 15th, at 11:30am for a fascinating lecture about the lives lost at the battle of Antietam by historian Kyle Purchase.
Perhaps the most somber portion of a Civil War battlefield is its’ National Cemetery, where thousands of soldiers are buried in eternal rest. They gave their lives “not for themselves, but for their country.” There is a limitless number of stories to tell about the Battle of Antietam and its’ aftermath, but this presentation hopes to tell some of them.
This lecture will discuss the origins of the National Cemetery System and highlight some stories of the men buried in Antietam National Cemetery.
This is free event, we hope to see you there.
