Elsewhere’s doors are open Friday! 🧵🪡

July 17 | 5pm | Free to the public

Residency #119 wraps with a Happening, an open evening with Carlee Latimer and Arianna Richardson, two multidisciplinary textile artists who have spent the last two weeks making work inside this collection. Wander all three floors, encounter what they’ve made and intervened upon, and pull up a chair in the CoLab at 6:15 for their artist talk.

This is what Elsewhere is for; a laboratory for thinking though art.

Artist happenings are always free, but donations are appreciated and go directly toward keeping our programs alive. 🖤

We love this handmade poster by the artists in the first slide!

Elsewhere is blooming with another duo of artists for our second research residency of 2026. 🌿

For Residency #119, we’re welcoming Carlee Latimer and Arianna Richardson; two artists whose practices feel almost made for this building.

Carlee is an artist and organizer from Madison, Wisconsin whose interdisciplinary social practice is rooted in connection, collaboration, and the rhythms of everyday life. Community-taught and curiosity-driven, she’s spent years facilitating artist residencies and exhibitions inside a public library system, working in the generative space between chaos, care, and discovery. She brings that same energy here.

Arianna is a sculptor, performance artist, sewist, and mother from Lethbridge, Alberta, in Treaty 7 territory. A lifelong crafter and thrift store enthusiast, she collects plastic-based trash and discarded craft materials and makes the world reckon with what it throws away. She performs under the name The Hobbyist, taking her practice into public spaces to activate them and spark real conversation. She’s also a preparator and university instructor back home in Alberta — someone who lives and breathes the art from every angle.

Two weeks. July 4–18. We cannot wait to see what they find inside this place. 🖤

He slows things down on purpose. Come see what that looks like live. 👀

Meet Bradley Sinanan — designer, artist, and one half of Residency #118. 🌀

Bradley spent two weeks inside Elsewhere’s living archive applying his signature friction; slowing down the slickness of technology, labor, and power to reveal what gets hidden in the rush. This Saturday, he brings that practice into live performance.

Don’t miss it.

She spent two weeks inside a living museum. Here’s what she found. 🎞️

Meet J. Eliza Wall — storyteller, filmmaker, and one half of Residency #118. 🌿

Joy came to Elsewhere to research, to dig into 60 years of collected material culture, and to find the connections that only a place like this can surface. This Saturday you can see what she discovered.
