❤️CALL FOR PUBLIC ART SHOW!!! 🥳 If you remeber your First Love… this show is for you!
Theme: Artists create portraits of their first crush. Try to remember who you were obsessed with. Subjects can be from real life, celebrities, pop icons, fictional characters, and even cartoon characters.
Format: Portraits can be any medium: drawn, printed from reference, cut from old paper media, painted etc. Images need to be centered and in a “cameo” style about 3x4”(place where the image of your crush is) and fit on a standard 8x10” (the rest of the things around your crush) art surface. Your art surface can be whatever you choose. Suggestions, paper, canvas sheets (flat, not backed), cardboard, card stick, or something like a tin, shadow box, etc. No glass in frames please. Each entry will be $5. Up to 3 finished pieces can be submitted. Fill the rest of the piece with nostalgic art that reminds you of this time in your life. This can be drawn, glued, painted objects etc.
Prompts & Inspiration: This is YOUR Valentine from the version of you that was just starting to grasp the world around you.
Fantasy is a huge element in romance. Because a crush IS fantasy, they tend to be remembered as a bittersweet experience. But you’ll never forget that First Love. 🩷
