My friend Tina Miller and I have been chatting about art classes for healing purposes. So we just started in her garage the other day. You paint whatever you feel like. I’ve been doing ‘Jesus & Me’ sketches and paintings in request for awhile now. I start by painting a black canvas and begin. As a Christian it’s like a no brainer to move into what obliterates anything negative...and this was the beginning process for me. I assist those who show up, but I didn’t teach. My painting is still evolving...I don’t want an image per se, what I’m personally working on is resolution to conflicts in my personal life and those I’m watching in our world. The only way I feel I can help is to send light there. That’s what JESUS did in the 33 years he spent here. Light diffuses the dark one stroke of paint at a time. It moves from all the color tones of black up to it highest points. Not finished yet...work in progress(like I am)...when I think I’ve accomplished what I set out to do, I’ll post it. This painting is dedicated to my friend Carole Ward and her family as she posted while I was painting that her father had just died! And Louis Kirkendall, a young nephew who’s just had a stroke. My prayers are with you and Shelly as you recuperate!

Hi everybody! I’m on my way to Yulee, and Fernandina Beach for the Shrimp Festival...and what I hear is an extraordinary time the locals have opened up to artisans from all over the place...and I’m in!! Thing is I’ve got a boat load of paintings from my wine and painting classes in and around Fairfield Glade, TN, along with other pieces I’ve finished. Some are framed and several are not! I’m off to find out personally where the interest level is at amongst patrons. Gonna check out other artists work as well, and take lots of pictures of Shrimp boats, food booths and anything new and interesting! If your in the area come visit and see! I’ll try to have some pictures of the event on my FB site. One more thing- there’s been lots of interest for the Levi art! I just love to paint...!! Did I tell you that? And my American Indian Dancers is fretting closer to being a reality! Visit with International Hoop dancer Jasmine Bell was awesome! She’s on You Tube if you’re interested! So we’ll see how that turns out!! I’m excited!! Taking vitamins for the energy to turn this venue up to high gear! Better hit!!

I haven’t shared in awhile because I’ve been busy getting ready to handpaint some Levi jackets I’ve collected! Did some horses I posted as a prototype finding out whether this was something I wanted to tackle. Decided to begin with some favorite subjects, my American Indian friends. One of the nicest thing to happen recently was a phone interview with a lovely young hoop dancer by the name of Jasmine Belle. She’s on You Tube. That’s where I saw her first and couldn’t believe what I was watching! Their costumes are so beautiful and brilliant! I’m hoping to capture the exciting colors and movement. I’m a fan of this particular indigenous group...but then again those Hawaiian dancers offer up some mighty fine challenges to the dance industry. The stories behind the dancing is something else I hope to incorporate into this new line of art. Keep an eye out!
