Thank you to Oksana Zavadenko, Yuliia Mykhailiv and Ridna Shkola for inviting our museum to join them in a live lecture titled “The Mysteries of the Ukrainian Vyshyvanka.” We had an opportunity to help prepare the young models (grades 7-8) for their debut on stage. Along with excerpts from the Spadok series of ethnic folk wear of Ukraine, the models were introduced by region and both Oksana and Yuliia commented and taught us about the different elements of the outfit and what was unique to that region.
At the end of Saturday, the Detroit School of Bandura wrapped up their school year with a mini recital of 4 students performing solos and with their instructor Maria Bakhador.
Дякуємо Оксані Заваденко, Юлії Михайлів та «Рідній Школі» за запрошення нашого музею долучитися до живої лекції під назвою «Таємниці української вишиванки». Ми мали нагоду допомогти підготувати юних моделей (7–8 класи) до їхнього дебюту на сцені. Разом з уривками із серії «Спадок», присвяченої українському народному вбранню, моделей представляли за регіонами, а Оксана та Юлія коментували й розповідали нам про різні елементи строю та про те, що було унікальним для кожного регіону.
Наприкінці суботи Detroit School of Bandura завершила навчальний рік мініконцертом, у якому 4 учні виконали сольні мсузичні твори разом зі своєю викладачкою Марією Бахадор.
