Here's your friendly reminder to stop by The Wright Museum today and celebrate Juneteenth with us. All Juneteenth programs and events are FREE and open to the public. We have activities indoors AND outdoors including horseback riding, silent yoga, performances & more!

Celebrate Juneteenth at the Wright with a full day of joy, culture, and community for all ages! Starting a day early with Third Thursday hosted by LaShaun Phoenix Kotaran. With the day of featuring a treasure hunt, bike ride, horseback riding, chalk art, and family activities to live performances, rhythm and dance, food experience, quilting workshops, and a concert to close out the day, there’s something for everyone. Bring your family, bring your friends, and experience a day filled with freedom, fun, history, and celebration. Join us Friday, June 19 from 9 AM–5 PM at the Wright!

Continue the Legacy. Remember the History.

Each Second Sunday at The Wright Museum is FREE and open to the Public. Tomorrow, The Wright Museum invites recent graduates of all levels to visit to the museum. Wear your cap & gowns, bring your family, honor history and legacy, and celebrate success!

FREE Professional Photographs & Headshots will be offered to all graduates between 10 AM - 3 PM.

Early arrival and registration is recommended.

Join the Haitian Network Group of Detroit (HNGD) and the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 1 PM to 4 PM, for a joyful and meaningful commemoration of Haitian Flag Day. A celebration of Haiti's legendary sheroes, this program invites everyone to honor the resilience, cultural pride, and enduring unity that the Haitian flag represents.
This is a space to learn, to celebrate, and to be moved. It is a space to affirm that Haiti's story is not only a story of struggle, it's a story of extraordinary triumph. And it is a story that belongs to all of us who believe that unity is, and has always been, our greatest strength.
This program will include live drum and folkloric dance, a screening of Age of Revolutions: The Haitian Revolution, spoken word, a musical tribute, a history presentation, and a reception featuring a taste of Haitian culture.
This is a free event. Seating is limited.
