Deposit Historical Society A non profit organization that preserves, promotes and researches the history of the Deposit, NY community.

The Deposit Historical Society maintains a museum with exhibits of area artifacts and period pieces. There are regularly scheduled events and educational opportunities. We are located in the village of Deposit, NY, just off route 17 in the Catskill Mountains. Our Museum is open to the public from 2 — 4 PM on Saturdays and Sundays from Memorial Day weekend until mid-October. Admission to the Deposi

See you tomorrow at the high School!

On Sunday, July 19th while you are making plans for the Lumberjack Festival weekend…put this event on your list of things to do! Walk with your guides at the current sight of the High School grounds and hear about how many businesses have been there over the years. Wonder what the School looks like now? Then enjoy a tour through the current Deposit high school and elementary school that is part of this Stroll through history! Please join us at the School at 1:00pm.

Find these around town starting Thursday and then bring them to the open house at the museum from 10-4 on Saturday 7/18 and receive a Deposit tumbler. You can even fill it with lemonade and enjoy our air conditioning! Browsing in the museum also welcome.
