Twenty years ago, 910Arts opened its doors.

On Friday, September 4, two exhibitions open at once.

In Kashi Kari Gallery, “The Story of 910Arts: 2006 to 2026” traces this building from
the construction years to today. In Tonantzin Studio 2, “910Arts Artists: 20 Years,
Then and Now” hangs work by alumni and current 910 artists side by side.

And there will be a blank canvas with one question on it: what is 910 Arts? Bring a
marker and answer it.

6 to 9pm. Both shows on view through September 30.

We built a place. People came. Artists made things. The community grew. The
building evolved. And we are still building.

Kashi Kari Gallery. One wall for the construction years, 2003 to 2006, when this
was still 7 Up. One wall for everything since.

20 years. One building. A whole lot of you.

910 Arts turns twenty, and we are opening the doors on Thursday, September 10, 6 to 9pm at 910 Santa Fe Drive. Alumni exhibition, 20 years of history, food and live music, and a toast at 7:30.

Swipe through. There are three things we need from you, and one of them is just showing up.

Studio renter, loft dweller, EventGallery artist, teacher, or someone who just spent a lot of hours here. You are part of this story. Come back for one night. RSVP by August 30.

Alumni exhibition. Work by artists who passed through 910, wherever you have landed since. Bring or send a current/past piece or photos, a few sentences of artist statement, and your contact details by September 1.

History exhibit and timeline wall. Opening night photos, press clippings, old posters and logos, construction shots, youth programs, past exhibitions. If it is in a drawer somewhere, we would love to scan it. Send by September 1.

Volunteers. Event night setup and greeting, install week hanging the show, documentation. No experience needed, just a couple of hours.

There’s a kind of art that doesn’t try to be loud.

It just sits in the room like a steady heartbeat.

That’s what you feel inside Polished Earth at 910 Arts, where two artists start with the same source (the natural world) and translate it into two completely different love languages.

Dawn Leopardi’s prints feel like walking through a memory you can’t fully name. Nature, yes! But also story. Myth. The quiet kind of wonder that makes you slow down and look again.

Vickie Stevinson works with stone and metal like they’re old friends. Lapidary and metalsmithing that honors what’s already there: color, texture, pattern, time. Pieces that feel less like “accessories” and more like tiny artifacts you get to carry.

Together, their work is a reminder:
the earth is still speaking.
and in the right hands, it becomes something you can live with, on your walls, in your hands, on your body.

Come by, linger, ask questions, and let the work find you.
