Are your hands hungry for something to do tonite? Wanna make something warm and pretty?

Check out Taryn's Knitting workshops on Thursday nite at The Art Salon. From Beginners to Advanced she works on all levels! New workshops start tonite- give her a call and join in!

Starting on Thursday, January 24th from 6-8pm with 3 levels of instruction for everyone from the beginner to the advanced needle noodler. The session will go for 5 weeks through Thursday February 21st.

Basic Knitting 101 - This class is designed specifically for those of you who have never picked up a set of knitting needles and want to learn. You will be taught basic knit and purl stitching, increases and decreases, casting on and binding off, as well as info about yarns, needles, and pattern-reading. $70

Intermediate- Fingerless Cabled Gloves
If you have basic skills and have made a few scarves and hats and want to learn new skills, then this level is for you! Learn to make a pair of fingerless gloves, in a cable pattern, utilizing a 3rd slip needle! Sound fun? Then register for this class! $80

Advanced- Sweater Bolero
If you have been knitting for awhile, you feel comfortable knitting cables, bobbles, yarn-overs, then learn some advanced techniques and patterns and design-your-own bolero! We will introduce tulip-lace, popcorn, and embellish your sweater with beading or decorative extras. This class requires a minimum of 5 weeks so please only register for this class if you can commit to the full session. $90

Hey there neighbors... want to learn to knit, hone your knitting skills and make something creative? Well the Art Salon's Taryn Snyder will be offering her classes starting this Thursday November 29th, running on Thursdays, until December 20th. Basic Knitting 101
Come join us on Thursday evenings at 6 pm to learn the basics and have some fun! You will learn casting on and off, knit and purl stitches, increases and decreases, and finish by making a fun beginners project of your own! Cost $60 for 4 hours of instruction. Class size: limit to 10 participants.

Intermediate Holiday Stocking
This intermediate knitting class is for knitters with some basic experience. Come join us on Thursday evenings at 7 pm to take your skills to the next level by knitting a holiday stocking using round needles, double-point needles, stitch markers, and multi-colored yarn patterns. All the required materials and needle size will be provided at registration. What a fun and fresh way to welcome the winter holidays! Cost $75 for 4 hours of instruction.

Advanced Afghan
If you have been knitting for some time and are able to easily knit cables, bobbles, and braids, then this is the class for you! Learn how to use your advanced skills to knit a cozy winter afghan. All materials, needle size, and pattern will be provided at registration. Cost $90 for 8 hours of instruction. Class size: limit to 6 participants.

Calling all Artists - I have a cool juried show that is going to span 4 galleries throughout Denver and the work is all to be done on skis and boards. If you have not heard of it before it is called The Art of Winter and I will be looking for unique artists to fit in to the different themes for each gallery!

Hey there Art Saloners!
This Wednesday night from 6-8pm we are combining creativity with a good cause. Project Valentine (www.projectvalentine.org) will be coming and is looking for creative handed/minded as well as kind-hearted people to create a few Valentine's... yes Valentines.

The whole idea is to create enough Valentines so that on February 14th patients getting chemo in the Denver metro area will receive something handmade and heartfelt to help them lift spirits and place smiles on faces that need them.

We did this last year and had a great time making funny cards telling cancer to stick it where the sun don't shine... the review from the recipients... well they loved it...

So join us in creating some sunshine, spreading some love and hopefully a little joy.

See ya Wed. night at the salon... feel free to bring friends and an adult beverage if you so desire.

Hi there Whittier-
The Art Salon will be presenting a couple of things for the month of October.

First - this Saturday Judith will be offering her mixed media layered pages classes this Saturday. Create beautiful works of art in collage style. A fun way to create for those who have played with arts, or even those new to the game.

Basic Knitting and tote bag knitting are coming to the salon. Taryn will be teaching on Thursdays starting on the 18th through Nov 8th from 6-8pm... beginners to people that want to learn how to make tote...fun for all and a great way to learn, meet new people and even make a holiday gift.

November 3rd City Hall will be part of Denver Arts week and I am looking for people to paint/ or create on stage. You are welcome to set up a booth and sell work and promote yourself.
