Two events are taking place this weekend at the Delphi Opera House and the Opera House Gallery.
On Friday, Delphi School Arts & Choirs will present There Is a Season. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. for the artwork display in the Banquet Hall, and students will give pottery wheel demonstrations outside. At 7:00 p.m., the school choirs will perform on the Opera House stage.
On Saturday evening, enjoy a performance by Bahler’s Golden Age Band. Tickets are available online or at the door. Doors to the Opera House Gallery opens at 6:30 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30 p.m.
Before either event, consider dining at one of our nearby restaurants.

A special gift for Mother’s Day

The Opera House Gallery features quality works by Deborah Waymire that would serve as an excellent gift selection for that special mother.
A favorite is the “Tree of Life” pendant. Inside would contain the appropriate birthstone, along with each child’s name, and finishing with a special note on the back.
Others possible selections could be her Cloisonne pendants, an assortment of earrings, bracelets, and rings.
Stop in and see Deb tomorrow (Fri.) from 11-5. We are open W-F, 11-5 & Sat. 11-4.

It's the last week of our Earth Day Show at the Opera House Gallery. Nature enthusiasts should check out Brian Gordy's artwork. He is often referred to as “The Turtle Man.” Pictured here is one of his four watercolors called “Up for Air.”
Here are Brian’s words: “As a subject, the turtle is a model of structure, function, and subtle, organic beauty. As a being, it conjures up ancient legends and several mythological references. My intent is to show the classic beauty of the turtle form, as well as their peculiar tendency to arrange themselves in dynamic composition. I also hope to bring a broader human awareness to the survival challenges turtles face in the world.”

Canceled!
We decided to cancel this evenings event. Spring weather in Indiana can be like, well you know. We would rather do this on a nicer evening. Our Earth Day Exhibit will be up all next week. Hope you get a chance to stop by.

We would like to invite everyone for a nice sunset hike to “Sunset Point” this evening. The hike will be led by Naturalist Mary Cuttler. We will meet at the Opera House Gallery at 7:00 then move to the Blue Bridge and walk along the Wabash & Erie Canal towpath trail. The weather this evening is forecasted to be 52º and sunny, perfect for an easy 0.8-mile walk. Help us celebrate upcoming “Earth Day”.

Celebrate Earth Day, Wednesday, May 22nd
But you don’t need to wait until the 22nd. The 4th Annual Earth Day Exhibition is currently on display at the Opera House Gallery in Delphi, Indiana.
One of our guest artists that we are pleased to showcase is Ginger Borden. Ginger’s paintings are filled with texture, symbolic shapes and color. Her many visits to National Parks reflect her interpretations of her experiences. The importance of maintaining these places is her message.
“Wabash Wander”
Join us Saturday, April 18th for an evening nature hike with Mary Cutler to Sunset Point. The easy trail follows the Wabash & Erie Canal to its meeting point with Deer Creek and the Wabash River. Meet at the Delphi Opera House at 7:00.

Earth Day Celebration
The Opera House Gallery presents its 4th annual Earth Day Exhibit. Guest artist Dan Annarino has on display "Night Meadow," a framed oil painting highlighting a bright field against dark trees, inspired by his curiosity about what lies beyond the treeline at night.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 18: Join us for “Wabash Wander,” a guided hike with naturalist Mary Cutler along the Wabash & Erie Canal to Sunset Point. The group will leave the Gallery at 7:30, heading to the Blue Bridge behind Pizza Hut.
Gallery hours: W-F, 11-5 & Sat. 11-4, plus an hour before each show at the Delphi Opera House.

Visiting the Opera House Gallery during our “Earth Day Exhibition ‘26” is a great way to brighten a rainy day. Curt Stanfield, a regular exhibitor, skillfully emphasizes light in his 30”x 30” oil painting “Prairie Dawn in Violet”. This is a scene from his prairie that he and his wife created some years back.
Stop in and enjoy this and other fine pieces of work celebrating the return of spring.

Throughout April, the Opera House Gallery hosts its 4th Annual Earth Day Exhibition featuring artists committed to environmental stewardship. On April 18, naturalist Mary Cutler, known for “Wednesdays in the Wild” at West Lafayette’s Lilly Nature Center—will lead an easy evening hike to Sunset Point.
