The Deerfield Historical Society’s Annual Election Night is coming up quickly!

Join us on Thursday, June 25, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. for a brief members meeting, light refreshments, and the election of officers and directors. Voting will close promptly at 7:30 p.m., with results announced shortly afterward.

Interested in serving on the board? To be included on the printed ballot, nominations must be submitted to [email protected] by June 22 and include a short bio. Nominations may also be made after that date and from the floor prior to the start of voting.

Not yet a member? New members are always welcome and encouraged to join. If you are interested in supporting local history, preservation, and community programs, please reach out to us at [email protected] for membership information.

In consideration of the memorial service for Herb McKinney on Saturday, June 6 at 1pm at DCC . The Museum will close at noon.

Brian Layton and Peter Borrone repair and replace damaged cellar insulation reducing the risk of moisture and maintaining a safer environment for our museum archives. While most visitors see gleaming exhibits much of the museums survival happens behind the scenes. Thank you Brian and Peter for donating over 10 hours of volunteer work. Just a little snapshot of the Deerfield Historical Society Museum grounds this week. Looking especially beautiful with a fresh mow yesterday by our wonderful volunteers, and gardens that are really beginning to come into bloom thanks in no small part to the Garden Club of Deerfield. Thoughtfully maintained and lovingly cared for by people who work hard to preserve both the building and the history inside it. Community support always helps these efforts grow.

A significant Deerfield treasure has returned home. This beautifully preserved c1850 quilt has traveled across country and gifted to the DHS Museum. The quilt is a remarkable piece of social history for being signed by various women of Deerfield. The quilt will be on exhibit the month of May before it receives a thorough examination at the MTS Museum in Andover, MA. Don't miss it!
