The Deer Isle Artists Association established in 1973 is an organization of artists, both professional and emerging, and people who are interested in the arts. Many of the members live in Maine, at least part of the year, but there is no residential requirement. Committed to promoting the visual arts in this part of Maine, the DIAA also encourages student artists by awarding scholarships to graduating high school seniors continuing their education in the arts. A series of exhibitions of paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings and photographs by members is held during the summer months in the DIAA Gallery June through October, Tues-Sun, 10–5.

From September 15-27, the Deer Isle Artists Association presents “Shared Visions,” bringing innovative teamwork to the DIAA gallery. For this exhibit, artists have partnered in pairs and trios to create collaborative work in mediums including painting, ceramics, weaving, metal, and the written word.

There are only four days left in the Deer Isle Artists Association’s annual “Small Works” exhibit.

The exhibit will be open Tuesday–Saturday from 10AM– 4PM and Sunday from 11AM-3PM from now through September 13, 2026.

This popular annual exhibit showcases the work of many artist members, offering a variety of small works in mediums including painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, weaving, woodwork, glass, and jewelry.

Buyers can carry away work when it is purchased. As work is sold, it will be replenished with new pieces, so patrons can return often to purchase beautiful art to collect or to give as unique gifts.

The “Small Works” exhibit will be open Tuesday–Saturday from 10AM– 4PM and Sunday from 11AM-3PM from now through September 13, 2026.

This popular annual exhibit showcases the work of many artist members, offering a variety of small works in mediums including painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, weaving, woodwork, glass, and jewelry.
