We're partnering with some really cool people to create a traveling, interactive mural for our community.

Do you want to be a part of it? Pop in our STEM Lab tomorrow to decorate a tile for part of the mural. We'll have plenty of art supplies to choose from and we'll have local artist Phil Murillo here to help from 10 - 12!

Special thanks to , Illinois Department of Human Services, The Field Foundation, local artists Phil Murillo and Makayla Rogers, and Starlight Creative Studios for helping make this project happen.

Today was a difficult day at SDMS. We informed our students that one of their own, Ian Dougherty-Moore, had passed away from a medical condition that led to an accident at home. His family made the amazing decision that Ian would continue to selflessly give and be an organ donor. His Path of Honor was today at Barnes Children’s Hospital. 💚💙

The Flight Team (crisis) was in our building today, including Pawprint Ministries, to be there for our students and staff. They will be back Tuesday morning, just in case.

Many described Ian as funny, kind, a good salesman, friendly, and a lover of God. With the family’s permission a memorial shirt has been created with the cover of Ian’s Art 2 sketchbook. If anyone would like to order one, the local company is not making a profit off of the sales. The link is below.
